passing on another stick

Mr forksteel gave me the idea to pass on another stick. So hereby i’m asking him, hans, regis, jim and rico to make a selfportrait and post it on their blog. Do it now and do it without thinking too much about it!
Note: i’m not talking shadows on the ground here!

I’m not sure all of them will like this assignment … but don’t blame me for trying.

And off course, here is mine, to get started with … (click it for the original post)

this is me

okay, here we go! (it’l have to be digital, but hey, if speed is of the essence, i’ll be forgiven i guess)

    Hi Ties,

I have now posted my version of a ‘don’t think too much about it’ self-portrait. I have passed the stick on to two more people :)

    hey ties,

i just love looking at what has started here… the self-portrait-stick is leading an own life!
so much fun jumping from blog to blog, really amazing…

  8. twan Says:

you know what… you think we could pull off a kind of “blog-self-portrait-day” with as many people as possible, all over the internet? that would be really amazing… people showing their faces all at the same time… suddenly the internet would get really up close and personal… must be so great to suddenly see all those faces behind the faceless sites… and, of course, world peace would be a tiny step closer in a naive kind of way :-)

you know what? join me and lets set a date and kick it off. i think it’ll work. let’s see if we can get a 100 people to join for, let’s say, march 1st?

the only thing we need to to is make everyone who posts, tag their post with a certain unique tag :-P

    cheers,

    twan “mr. forksteel”

you’re full of great ideas! count me in!
how shall we propagate this self-portrait-worldpeace-blogger-assignment? little ‘ad’ on our blogs? but maybe that ‘ll be forgotten soon once we post something else …

we should definitely use ‘world-peace’ (regardless how naive that might sound) as a motive, that way no one can refuse for the sake of their conscience.

maybe a small website afterwards with the peaceful-bloggers’ submissions?
    i’m already getting carried away … :-)

  10. twan Says:

okay let’s kick it off! i suppose we need to do something like this:

    have a concept site with:
    we explain the concept
everyone who joins can add your name + url
everyone who joins can directly link to a selection of “i joined” kinda logo’s to post on their own site linking back to the concept site (plus a short tech explanation if necessary)
    a date for the event!!
    just 3 rules:
it has to be a recognisable self portrait
you cannot post another post for 24 hours, counting from the self portrait
you have to tag the post with the following keywords: …

i’m no expert at organising things like this, but it sounds like it could work. and easy to build :-)

maybe we should continue this directly via email :-)
although, it has a kind of charm doing it this way :-) :-)

but first: a name! i kinda like the phonetic description of “faces” a lot, incuding the square brackets:

    [’fAsis]

what do you think? any other ideas? “my face day?” “face the day”? “let’s face it”?

maybe we could start “myface” as an allusion to “myspace” hehe :-P

or…. so many ideas, gotta run off to work now, see ya later!

    cheers,

    twan

from “not thinking about it” to “word peace”.. after thinking about ;-) it i am all for it. lets go for it. We should think about the date though… there is such a thing as the “march 1 movement” (it has a wiki).

anyway lets all get carried away

i gotta run too, i have another migration-interview, and then work off course!
